1923 - Lowell's first gasoline powered fire truck, whcih is a chemical engine.
   
July 28, 1935 - The new fire truck is a Reo, built by Seagrave Co. The truck has a 500 GPM pump with a 250 gallon booster tank. The truck cost $3,813.07. Out of service on November 25, 1958.
   
October 10, 1946 - The new 1000 GPM Seagrave pumper cost $10,000 and was paid for by the Lee fund. The new pumper was called the S.S.Lee. This made the Lowell Fire Department one of the best equipped departments for a village of it's size in the state!
   
November 27, 1958 - Lowell received a new fire truck, which was a John Bean pumper. The new truck cost $16,000. Put out of service on April 26, 1970 when it ran a stop sign at Vergennes and Lincoln Lake and was broadsided.
   
May 22, 1969 - The Lowell Fire Department purchased, with the help from the neighboring Townships, a Ford Bronco 4X4 for grass fires. This was truck #4 until taken out of service in 1991.
   
1971 - A 750 GPM International pumper with a 750 gallon tank was added to the Department's equipment. This truck was County Pumper #381 until taken out of service in 1984.
   
March 1975 - The Lowell Police Department purchased a 3/4 Ford Van and the "Jaws of Life". The rescue squad was called Lowell 838 until October 1983 when the Fire Department took over the rescue squad responsibilities.
   
May 1981 - This 1952 Dodge 4X4 DNR grass truck was added. It was taken out of service in 1986.
   
1985 - The old 1971 International pumper is converted into Heavy Rescue Squad #10 and was taken out of service in May 1996. (click on picture for a list of who's in the picture)
   
1986 - Lowell adds the newest fire truck to it's fleet. It is a 1980 Ford 4X4 converted into a grass truck. Then in February 1990 it is converted to a rescue squad for in-house medicals.
   
1991 - The newest truck added was this 1981 Chevrolet 4x4. The truck was converted to a grass truck in 1991, called Truck #8, and was taken out of service in 1997.
